Smoke from Santa Barbara fires now off O.C.

The huge wildfires that have burned down hillsides to the city limits of Santa Barbara have produced a huge smoke plume that’s drifted southwest and is now way off the coast of Orange County, as shown as this new satellite photograph from the National Weather Service. At the same time, there are fairly strong onshore winds today, so some of the particulate could flow into Orange County over the next day or so. And as we reported this morning, Orange County also is expected to get bits of dust
